TRUST Partners with DaVita Volunteers at Colorado Health Fair

As reported in the Montrose Daily Press on March 3, 2013, the TRUST teamed up with the local staff at DaVita Dialysis to provide screening to hundreds of participants in the Montrose Memorial Hospital Health Fair.  “Approximately 31 million adult Americans, one in 10, have chronic kidney disease — and 90 percent don’t even know it, according to Gloria Upchuch, director of chronic kidney disease programming for the the Kidney Trust.”

According to the article, “many of those who attended Saturday’s Montrose Memorial Hospital Health Fair at the Montrose Pavilion took a proactive step in early identification of the ailment by taking a free kidney disease screening, one of the many free tests offered at the event. The Kidney Trust, an organization dedicated to promoting awareness of kidney issues, partnered with the local staff at DaVita Dialysis to make the screenings possible. Bev Roth, clinical coordinator for DaVita, said the nurses and physicians were prepared to screen more than 300 individuals Saturday.”
