Enter the Bed Race and Save a Life!
The second annual Bed Race for Life will take place in San Mateo, California on Saturday, October 8, 2011 to benefit The Kidney TRUST. We’re recruiting fun-seeking individuals and teams from all over the U.S. to join the race or sponsor a racing team. Teams are comprised of five individuals, where four push and one person rides each bed on wheels. Decorate a crazy, colorful and speedy bed and race for a good cause. We supply the bed on wheels and you supply the decoration and the race crew. Check out the video from last year’s race … and start recruiting your team! This unique, wacky event challenges companies, schools, non-profits, families, and friends to form teams that will boast unique, creative and eye-catching beds and race each other for fun, bragging rights, and prizes.
Join us on race day
If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, you can join KTVU’s Tom Vacar along with other Bay Area celebrities at the race on October 8. Sponsor a bed, recruit a team, come up with a winning design, and be there in person. Free chronic kidney disease screening will be offered to all in attendance by The Kidney TRUST.
Create a virtual team
You can support the cause or sponsor a bed even if you can’t attend the race itself. Go to the Bed Race website and register your team. If you can’t make it in person, we’ll decorate your bed per your instructions and supply a crew of volunteers to race your bed!
Your Donation Will Have an Impact
31 million Americans have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and 90 percent don’t know it. For every $60 raised, the Kidney TRUST can screen one person for CKD and potentially save a life. You can donate to the cause even if you can’t participate in the race itself. |
