The Kidney TRUST Names Program Director

Balingit to Expand Free Kidney Disease Screening Program

Burlingame, California, December 3, 2021 – The Kidney TRUST, a non-profit organization dedicated to Chronic Kidney Disease (“CKD”) education and prevention, announced today the appointment of Revkah Balingit, RN, as program director. Revkah was previously the senior manager for DaVita, Inc.’s KEY Connections kidney disease education program.

The Kidney TRUST president Barbara Lawson commented: “Revkah is a proven leader in the field of kidney disease education and is uniquely qualified to take on the position of program director for The Kidney TRUST. Her first priority will be to implement the TRUST’s free kidney disease screening program on a national basis, building on the pilot program that was launched earlier this year.”

Revkah remarked on her appointment: “I’ve spent the last five years focused on raising awareness about kidney disease and I am tremendously excited to be able to take the next step and help implement the TRUST’s screening program. If we can provide education about risk factors, promote earlier diagnosis. and empower people to be active members of their health care team, we will not only improve the quality of their lives, but we may be able to help relieve the growing burden on the U.S. healthcare system by decreasing medical costs attributable to late stage kidney disease.”

Revkah is a registered nurse with a broad clinical background and extensive case management experience. Her prior experience includes positions at Cigna Healthcare Colorado, HCA Healthcare, and the Santa Clara County Health Authority in California in addition to her work at DaVita.

The Kidney TRUST’s mission is to create a world of hope, health, action and engagement for those affected by CKD, which will benefit the 26 million American adults who have CKD as well as more than 300,000 Americans with kidney failure who are receiving dialysis therapy. One of the TRUST’s main goals is to increase awareness of kidney disease through public education and screening programs. These efforts will help to prevent or at least delay the progression of CKD. The Kidney TRUST was founded in 2006 by DaVita, one of the largest independent providers of dialysis services in the United States.
